From fear to freedom. God used the Haggai Leader Experience as a conduit to give Haggai Leader Rotha* the confidence to share her faith boldly. Because of that, thousands of people have experienced the Gospel in Southeast Asia. Rotha’s story makes it so evident that God doesn’t call the equipped, he equips the called.  

Before the Haggai Leader Experience, Rotha was afraid to speak out about her faith, even to her husband. Because of certain governing laws, religious neutrality is emphasized, making religious messaging inappropriate, and can even damage trust. In her workplace, while she’s not able to speak openly about the gospel, she shows the love of Christ to those around her through living with integrity, compassion, and servant leadership. 

At the Haggai Leader Experience, God laid a faith-filled goal on Rotha’s heart: to make 20 disciples and share the gospel with 200 people. But at the end of the experience, she was encouraged to increase that goal to make 200 disciples and share the gospel with 2,000 people. And through Rotha’s step in faith, God did more than she could think or imagine. In less than one year since the experience, Rotha has seen over 170 disciples raised and shared the gospel with 32,000 people.

The woman who was fearful to even speak about her faith with her husband, has now shared the gospel with 32,000 people. This is the power of faith followed by obedience. 

Rotha’s commitment to discipleship is especially evident in her work with the next generation. As a mentor and trusted leader in her community, she works with 20 youth groups and approximately 200 young people ages 15 to 26. She mentors and equips them to grow in character and leadership while encouraging them to share God’s love through group conversations and a daily Bible verse. Through her example of service, integrity and compassion, Rotha helps young people see what faith can look like in everyday life.

That same commitment to discipleship extends to her church community, where she serves as a group leader for 80 women. She focuses on building a supportive community and helping women and other church members understand how the Gospel transforms their daily lives, relationships and service. In each of these settings, Rotha creates space for others to grow in faith and become leaders themselves.

Her influence also reaches beyond her local community. Rotha has served as the Resident Coordinator for three Haggai National Seminars and as Next Gen faculty, training and mentoring leaders to integrate Gospel-centered values into their leadership and service. These opportunities have allowed her to multiply the equipping she first received through the Haggai Leader Experience.

Today, Rotha’s influence spans youth groups, her church, her community and national leadership. In every sphere, she shares the Gospel through both her words and her life. Her consistent witness of faith, service and integrity helps others see Christ’s love in action, making the Gospel tangible in everyday life.
