God is always working through the questions people carry.

In Southeast Asia, where secular influence shapes many conversations about faith, Haggai Leader Nathan* encountered another challenge: Why would Catholics listen to a layperson when their churches already have priests?

Nathan responds through practical teaching and a willingness to engage difficult subjects. He shares the Gospel by helping people understand what it actually means and how it applies to their lives. Through his ministry, Home Catechesis, a monthly gathering where families come together for fellowship and conversation, he creates a space for families and youth to explore relevant Kingdom topics, including miracles, eschatology, carrying the cross, youth evangelism, and how Christians can respond to LGBT-related topics.

Since his Haggai Leader Experience, Nathan has carried a deeper sense of fortitude and trust in the Lord. He equips those around him through retreats, youth gatherings, and open conversations in his home. What began as a desire to address pressing concerns, has grown into a ministry of biblical reflection, family connection, and Gospel witness.

Nathan has put that trust in the Lord into practice through taking advantage of opportunities to teach and equip others. Last year, he presented on evangelism to approximately 72 people at a parish retreat, addressing how Christians can engage people with different religious beliefs. Later that year, he spoke to approximately 30 altar servers from his local parish about what it means to carry their cross. These young people were already serving in the church, and Nathan helped them consider how discipleship shapes their daily lives.

Through these conversations, Nathan is living out his purpose and representing the Gospel well through his actions, creating a Gospel impact that is bigger than himself.

That same commitment has taken shape through the Home Catechesis ministry. Over time, these gatherings have become a trusted space for families and youth to bring their concerns into the light.

Rather than simply delivering lectures, Nathan listens thoughtfully to what families and young people are already asking and helps guide the conversation around them. Through this approach, the ministry continues to create space for families to explore the Gospel together and ask vulnerable questions without judgement.

Nathan has taken God’s call on his life seriously, and it’s making an impact on the community around him. Today, Nathan continues to follow God’s direction by equipping families and young people to engage the Gospel in everyday life. Nathan is building a ministry where difficult conversations can lead to deeper understanding, practical application, and continued growth in faith.

He is a great example of what it looks like for the equipped to equip others.
