Planting The Seed: Rajan’s Work with the Next Generation in South Asia

Haggai Leaders around the world are equipped to share the Gospel, even in the face of adversity.

This is evident in South Asia, where nearly two-thirds of the population practices Hinduism, and laws often place strict limits on evangelism. Despite these challenges, Haggai Leader Rajan continues to find ways to plant seeds in the next generation.

Even before attending the Haggai Leader Experience (HLE), Rajan knew he was called to Gospel work. “I am a pastor in my church, but the HLE encourages me because many people need to hear about Jesus, and many people need to be trained to do this. So, I also encourage others to do this training,” he explained.

Rajan has a passion for raising young leaders. In his region, many young people leave their communities to work abroad due to economic hardship. In response, Rajan has devoted his ministry to equipping youth to share the Gospel wherever they go. As the President of a worship school, he has already trained over 70 young people. These short programs include music instruction and discipleship, impacting youth from all over.

In July 2025, Rajan organized a 40-day event at a short-term training center for youth from rural churches. The program equipped students in discipleship, provided music training, and encouraged them to embrace ministry opportunities. Though limited resources remain a challenge, the lasting influence on his students remains. One has started a church in a new city, another shares the Gospel with coworkers while working in multiple countries, and a third now serves as a worship leader, testifying in churches throughout the region. This is what it looks like when it happens. Rajan’s faithfulness has led many to Christ.

Reflecting on his ministry, Rajan said, “I’ve always loved talking to people. I encourage them and build relationships with them.” Recognizing a call for further impact, his vision for the future includes developing an audio-visual resource to support sharing his personal testimony and expanding opportunities for young people to grow in faith and leadership.

Through his work, Rajan exemplifies the perseverance of all Haggai Leaders who continue to serve faithfully under restrictive governments or systems. His commitment to training youth ensures that the next generation will not only embrace the Gospel but also carry it into their own communities with confidence and compassion.
