From Equipped to Impact: Charlie’s Journey Toward Restoration

In West Africa, Haggai Leader Charlie* operates at the intersection of commerce and calling. As a vice president at his company, he oversees infrastructure and development initiatives across multiple sectors. Work that directly impacts communities, employment, and systems. His influence is not theoretical; it is lived out in decisions that shape everyday realities. When a leader with credibility and access commits to demonstrating the gospel, the impact extends far beyond one life.

Before attending the Haggai Leader Experience (HLE), Charlie was already living out his faith. He used his role to employ young people, viewing each hire as a discipleship opportunity. He promoted corporate governance grounded in biblical integrity and created space for gospel conversations through free technology training programs. Outside of work, he supported families by funding education, covering medical needs, and helping provide food. He was not waiting to be equipped—he was already serving.

Yet something was missing. Without clarity, even meaningful work can lack focus and direction. When Charlie was accepted into the HLE, he saw it as an opportunity to “sharpen my vision and become more useful for Christ in spreading the gospel.”

The HLE became a turning point.Through the experience, Charlie gained a clearer understanding of how the gospel intersects with where he lives, works, and leads, along with practical ways to act on that conviction. Just as importantly, his perspective on serving God was reshaped. He returned home not just inspired, but equipped with a focused approach.

The shift was significant. Gospel-sharing moved from being something he did alongside his work to something that defined it. His role did not change, but his approach did. His position became a platform for influence. Hiring became mentorship. Projects became opportunities to demonstrate what restoration looks like when gospel values shape decisions, resources, and relationships.

Today, Charlie distributes gospel resources monthly across his network, reaching thousands. Each interaction—whether through mentorship, financial support, or conversation—reflects the same message. His work and his witness are no longer separate, but fully integrated.

What began at the HLE continues to multiply. Those he mentors carry their influence into new spaces. Young professionals shaped under his leadership bring credibility into their own fields. Families he supports grow stronger and more open to transformation. His leadership offers a visible alternative to corruption and exploitation.

This is how restoration spreads. One strategically positioned leader, equipped with clarity and conviction, moves from good intentions to lasting impact. Charlie’s work in the marketplace reflects what gospel-centered leadership can look like: grounded in where he lives, works, and leads, lived out daily, and multiplied through others.
