An Expanding Vision

Raising up the next generation is vital to ensuring the hope of the Gospel plants roots across the world and truth carries on for years to come. This is why it’s one of the focuses our facilitators spend time on during a Haggai Leader Experience (HLE). For Haggai leader Grace*, it’s her life’s mission.

“I am a servant of God building up exemplary young people and passing on the baton of faith to the next generation,” she says. “By preparing the next generation in the local church through training, equipping, fellowship, sharing God’s Word, and being a living testimony — this is how I can help fulfill the Great Commission.”

During the HLE, leaders join either an in-person or virtual session and gain powerful tools for sharing the Gospel more effectively in their spheres of influence. A leader from Southeast Asia, Grace began her first day of an in-person HLE by joining other leaders on the worship team to help guide their 10 days together.

“I never knew I would be part of something so major,” she says. “It was a blessing and an honor for me to serve God with so many new friends from around the world. The connection that we had here with every participant was the most transforming experience, the love we share for each other. Loving everyone despite our differences is my takeaway from the HLE for my ministry.”

At an HLE, leaders join from across the world, creating a unique meeting that celebrates their various cultures. Haggai has equipped more than 135,000 leaders from 189 countries since its beginning more than 50 years ago! This is a special part of the HLE for leaders as they learn about the need for the Gospel around the world and unite with brothers and sisters they never before would have been able to meet. For Grace, this cultural moment helped her look outside her comfort zone to see God calling her to expand her vision.

“Specifically, the pattern that I had for my Kingdom work was just church ministry, but after the HLE, it has changed with a burden that I should reach out to many people outside the church who need Jesus and to train young people to do the same.”

Today, Grace is implementing the tools she gained from her newly finished HLE. Pray for her and leaders like her reaching the next generation in their spheres of influence in ways only they can do.
