The Ripple Effect of One “Yes”
All it takes is one “yes.” When one life is transformed by the Gospel and equipped to share it, the ripple can multiply across generations, families, and entire communities that are difficult to reach. For Haggai Leader Amaya, that journey began at the Haggai Leader Experience (HLE). Working as a teacher and counselor, she came to the HLE expecting to strengthen her ministry, but she was met with something else: a whole new calling. “It was extremely effective,” she explained. “I changed my life and my focus in ministry.”
For Amaya, teaching and counseling had always allowed her to guide and encourage others. But through the HLE, she realized her role was to multiply. She was equipped with practical strategies to use, even in areas where publicly exposing the Gospel requires discretion. Living in a majority-Buddhist region, Amaya understood the challenges of living out her faith where constitutional protections for certain beliefs are limited. Yet, she found creative ways to walk faithfully in her calling, modeling Christ’s love through her work and opening new opportunities to multiply her impact.
Over time, her ministry has expanded. She began mentoring young people, establishing prayer groups, facilitating discipleship sessions, ministering to individuals, offering Christian counseling, leading children’s ministry, working with women in sensitive situations, collaborating with community leaders, empowering youth and supporting children with special needs. Each effort had the same goal to equip others to carry the Gospel forward, and Amaya is already seeing the fruits of her work.
As a faculty member with Haggai’s evangelism training program, Amaya often leads sessions virtually, equipping believers far beyond her own community. At the end of one session, a participant was so moved that he immediately organized a training at his church, which multiplied again as many more were inspired to share their faith. In another instance, she mentored a small Christian team, helping them strengthen their ministry practices. That group eventually organized a large-scale outreach event, creating opportunities for countless others to hear the Gospel. She has also organized prayer chains focused specifically on evangelism, not only covering communities in prayer but also awakening Christians to the reality of Gospel poverty in their region and mobilizing them into action.
Each story adds to the ripple effect that began when Amaya first said “yes” at the Haggai Leader Experience. Her story captures the very heart of Haggai International: one leader equipped, carrying the Gospel home, multiplying it in ways that bring restoration to their community. Every student she mentors, every prayer group she organizes, every team she counsels carries forward the influence of her obedience. And as those she equips go on to equip others, the ripple keeps expanding.
Her journey reminds us that restoration begins with one transformed leader who multiplies others. One “yes” becomes many. One act of obedience creates generational impact. And one teacher, equipped to multiply, can help change the future of the Gospel across communities that need it most.
