HUNTER HALL

CHIEF STRATEGY OFFICER

What is your role and what are your responsibilities at Haggai?

I serve as the Chief Strategy Officer at Haggai International. My foremost responsibility is to own the strategic plan and move us forward in the fulfillment of the goals and objectives of the ministry. We are fortunate in that Haggai International already has a written strategic plan and has been operating off it for years. Additionally, I provide direct support to the CEO in coordinating activities in the CEO’s office, both strategic and operational.

How does working at Haggai help you fulfill your personal life’s mission and or goals?

I have always had a propensity toward strategy and moving people and teams forward. It is a pattern in my life regardless of the work I’ve done. The Great Commission captured my heart when I took a class called Perspectives on the World Christian MovementIt was the first time I saw how God has always been working His redemptive plans regardless of circumstances, and that I could be part of that. Working with Haggai allows me to bring my strategic wiring and make direct application to the Great Commission — and, prayerfully, we can be part of seeing God’s people make a dent in ending Gospel poverty!

Highlight your previous work experience.

After graduation, my wife and I spent 11 years with Cru on several college campuses. We then moved to the Atlanta area where I worked in real estate as well as my first stint in strategic planning consultation. I had the pleasure of running our local Chamber of Commerce for five years. For the past seven years, I served as both an internal and external consultant to a holding company of 17 various companies where I was responsible for the creation and implementation of the strategic plans and assessing employee talent against the strategic needs to ensure our ability to accomplish our goals.

What additional information would you like to share about yourself?

My wife, Shelly, and I have been married 28 years and have four fun loving kids: Jackson, Steadman, Holden, and Lauren. We are somewhat of a Haggai family as Shelly’s grandfather, Guy Rutland, was one of Dr. Haggai’s founding trustees. Her father, Bob Rutland, likewise has been a trustee for years.  Our kids have been coming to Haggai events and rubbing shoulders with Haggai leaders for years. It has shaped their worldview!
