A Deeper Burden for the Next Generation

“I became more focused. It was clearly what I needed.”

When Haggai Leader Chidi* learned he had been accepted to attend the Haggai Leader Experience, he felt humbled and anxious. With an already demanding schedule, setting aside a month meant stepping away from many responsibilities. He didn’t know what to expect, but he chose to trust God anyway.

The experience helped Chidi see his calling more clearly and understand the discipline he needed to follow it. He became more confident speaking in public and learned new ways to share the Gospel in secular settings. His burden for the next generation grew deeper, too.

“I began to take more risks, trusting God for the outcome and simply choosing to do my best in all situations.”

Today, that renewed focus informs his work with children and emerging healthcare leaders. As a Christian health care leader and university lecturer, Chidi helps equip doctors, dentists, and students to connect their faith with their work, instead of treating them as separate things.

Through the Christian Medical and Dental Association and a leadership institute he founded, Chidi brings young professionals together for discipleship and leadership development. During seven-day sessions, doctors learn from faculty who share their own stories of faith and put into practice what they teach. What Chidi learned during his Haggai Leader Experience has helped him strengthen the curriculum.

The Gospel is at the heart of these gatherings. Participants explore how their faith can guide the decisions they make, and the relationships they build.

Chidi’s commitment to the next generation also takes shape through steady, personal relationships. Together with his wife, he runs two discipleship centers for children. Each welcomes about 250 children, with sessions held every week for 10 months of the year.

Chidi gives us a concrete picture of how equipped leaders equip others. His approach to holistic witness means caring for the next generation’s needs while also helping them grow in faith and prepare for their futures.
