Restoration Through Education: Diyana’s Mission in South Asia

Restoration often begins quietly, long before anyone can see its full effect. Through the Haggai Leader Experience, restoration takes shape in lives, communities, and systems as leaders apply Gospel-centered principles with courage and humility. This visible transformation creates a ripple that moves through classrooms, families, and institutions. In South Asia, Diyana demonstrates how one leader’s transformation can encourage generations toward hope.

As the Coordinator of Christian Education at her local church, Diyana oversees Sunday school programs serving 5,400 parishioners and 1,050 children. Her work includes guiding teachers, supporting parents, and ensuring that children receive biblical teaching in ways that strengthen their faith. She also coordinates premarital counseling for churches in her area, forming more resilient communities through stronger families.

Her country faces significant economic hardship, and many families live far from the church, making participation difficult. Even so, Diyana has seen that partnerships with nearby religious institutions create unexpected openings. She has found that sharing the Gospel is not as tricky as outsiders may assume. After the COVID pandemic, community kitchens and service projects revealed how Christians care for one another. These efforts opened doors for deeper conversations about faith and built trust among families who had been hesitant to engage.

Diyana’s influence continues to grow through her relational approach. She listens with genuine warmth and offers small expressions of care that reflect the distinctiveness of a Christ-centered life. Her manner reflects her belief that transformation can begin with a simple smile. She invites others to move toward faith, often encouraging them with the reminder from James 4:8, “Get closer to God, God will get closer to you.”

Her ministry includes personal stories of restoration. She leads a women’s ministry in which every participant became a follower of Jesus during a Christmas program. Beginning in 2026, she will meet with them on the first Wednesday of each month to support their growth in Christ. Each Friday, she leads a Bible study for 12 to 15 women, equipping them to walk confidently along their spiritual journey. These gatherings reflect her commitment to reach people every day in every way.

Her church will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2026, and she has been chosen to lead a Spiritual Development Committee throughout the next two years. With 23 people serving alongside her, she sees this season as both a challenge and an opportunity to reconnect with lost members and reach surrounding villages. She also partners with Christian and non-Christian organizations that support children, families, and teachers.

The Haggai Leader Experience (HLE) became a turning point in her leadership. She credits her Haggai mentors and sponsors for strengthening her during a difficult season and equipping her for broader impact. After returning from her HLE, she began reaching every adult she met with renewed purpose. She integrated Haggai principles into curriculum design, created lesson plans for residential camps, produced Bible story videos for children, and developed new tools for teacher training. She explains that every part of the HLE reshaped her thinking, attitudes, and actions.

Through Diyana’s story, restoration becomes visible. It is seen in classrooms strengthened, families supported, and communities renewed through Gospel-centered leadership. Her journey illustrates how the Haggai Leader Experience ignites change that extends far beyond a single leader, creating a ripple effect that guides and influences generations.
