Restoration in Action: Vincent’s Multiplying Impact in Kenya
Over the course of the Haggai Leader Experience (HLE), participants are equipped to bring restoration to their communities through Gospel-centered leadership. These leaders return home prepared to multiply their influence by equipping others, launching initiatives, and addressing real needs in their communities. One leader from Malakisi, Kenya, is a shining example of this transformation. Haggai Leader Vincent’s journey demonstrates how the HLE turns conviction into action, bringing hope to the people he serves.
In Kenya, nearly 80% of the population identify as Christian. Yet, the nation’s traditional tribal roots continue to influence modern belief systems, with many participating in practices involving ancestral spirits or witchcraft, creating a tension between cultural heritage and the Gospel. Vincent understands this challenge deeply. As a pastor, church planter, and leadership trainer in Malakisi, he works to bridge that divide. His ministry reflects the conviction that the Gospel must reach both hearts and systems, bringing spiritual renewal and restoration to communities across Kenya.
Recognizing the importance of developing the next generation, Vincent mentors teachers to disciple students in schools where faith-based discussions are allowed. He also trains pastors in partnership with Pan Africa Christian University, volunteering his time while the university provides the curriculum. His influence has grown beyond his local region, leading to the creation of a training center for church leaders. Early in 2025, in collaboration with KAG East University, Vincent launched a new Bible school with a first cohort of 40 pastors. Vincent’s accomplishments show the ripple effect of leaders in action and how those well-equipped go on to equip others.
In 2020, Vincent also began what he calls the Teso Redemption Mission. Moved by the spiritual and economic needs of the Teso tribe in western Kenya, he gathered other leaders and believers to pray for transformation. The movement grew into a blend of evangelism, church planting, and community development. Through open discussions, the community identified avocado farming as a sustainable path to economic empowerment for the tribe. Vincent and his team trained farmers, distributed seedlings, and coupled each gathering with the sharing of the Gospel. This demonstrates how evangelism and empowerment work hand in hand, showing how Christ extends beyond the spiritual into the social and economic fabric of a community.
Vincent’s passion for the next generation continues to guide his ministry. Each year, he organizes youth discipleship programs during school holidays, gathering over 1,000 students at a time. These sessions equip young people to live for Christ and influence their peers. Within his church, he oversees a growing Sunday school ministry, trains teachers, and builds classrooms for children. His goal is clear: to raise a generation of believers who are spiritually grounded and ready to impact society.
When asked what fuels his mission, Vincent points back to the Haggai Leader Experience. “The statistics of people who have never heard of Jesus Christ ignited in me a passion to end Gospel poverty,” he explained. The HLE gave him the tools to turn that passion into a sustainable plan, one that continues to expand through his efforts in Kenya.
Vincent’s story reflects the essence of Haggai International’s mission: to equip and inspire strategically positioned leaders to more effectively demonstrate and present the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to prepare others to do the same. His work in Kenya stands as a testament to the power of structured leadership development, where vision is refined and transformation takes root in communities across the world.
