Ministry in the Marketplace: How One Leader Can Catalyze Transformation

At the Haggai Leader Experience (HLE), participants are challenged to see their vocation, whatever it may be, as a mission to share the Gospel. This equips leaders to transform their approach to work, inspiring them to carry Christ into every sphere of influence. One individual saying “yes” to God’s call becomes a ripple effect that touches families, communities and even nations. As Colossians 3:23 reminds us, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” Haggai Leader Rizky has become an example of this truth, as he seeks to bring restoration through his work.

Rizky serves as a hospitality business consultant, advising hotels, restaurants and event venues. After the HLE, he began to recognize his profession as a platform for ministry. He started weaving Gospel influence into his professional networks and viewing each business interaction as an opportunity to point others toward Christ. His impact, however, does not stop in boardrooms or hotel lobbies. Inspired by what he learned at the HLE, Rizky began pouring into others through discipleship. In the marketplace of his city, he creates conversations that lead others to Christ.

He also initiated weekly gatherings in local churches where pastors and youth leaders are equipped to share the Gospel more intentionally. Every other month, he opens his resort as a training center, hosting leaders from churches, youth ministries and the business community to equip them not only for evangelism, but also for church planting. These sessions provide both encouragement and practical tools to carry the Gospel further into their communities.

The work extends into rural areas as well. There, access to the Gospel is much more limited, especially among ethnic minority groups. Rizky coordinates discipleship trainings in these areas, often meeting in homes or small churches. These gatherings empower local believers to bring the Gospel into places where outside evangelists would not be welcomed. “We have no issues in the cities,” Rizky shared, “but we are facing difficulty in some rural areas.” Still, he remains committed, believing that transformation will come as local leaders take up the call themselves.

Throughout these efforts, Rizky emphasizes what he calls a “Kingdom Culture Standard.” For him, discipleship is not about occasional programs or one-time events. It is about cultivating a way of life where Gospel values shape daily decisions, whether in ministry or the marketplace. By teaching leaders to let Gospel principles guide both their faith and their professional practices, he is helping to raise what he calls “Great Kingdom Influencers”—men and women whose lives reflect Christ in every setting.

The encouragement Rizky received through the HLE continues to fuel this vision. He often recalls the story of a fellow participant from South Asia who faces immense restrictions yet remains faithful in sharing the Gospel. That example reminds him that he is part of something larger: a global movement of leaders equipped to advance God’s mission. “HLE encouraged me more to do God’s work,” Rizky said.

His story is a vivid reminder of why equipping matters. One life transformed becomes a spark for many others. One leader saying “yes” to God’s call becomes the catalyst for restoration across cities, villages and nations. Through Rizky’s obedience, businesses are infused with Gospel values, churches are strengthened and even rural communities are being reached with the hope of Christ.

Every vocation can become a mission. Every leader can become a catalyst for restoration. And when equipping multiplies, the ripple effect can reach the ends of the earth.
