GARY W. KEY
CHIEF DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Gary served for six years with American Red Cross where he held positions including Chief Development Officer for the Georgia Region and Division Fundraising Vice President for the Southeast United States.
Gary has a long and distinguished career as a senior fundraising and communications professional as well as consultant for hospitals, universities, medical schools and faith-based organizations. During his career Gary has lead fund raising efforts that have raised more than $275 million.
Prior to joining Red Cross in 2012, Gary has served as President of Key Consulting Group, Vice President for Institutional Advancement for Morehouse School of Medicine and Associate Vice President for Advancement at Georgia State University where his efforts contributed to the success of a $95 million comprehensive campaign effort.
Before moving to Georgia in 1998, Gary spent 18 years serving as Senior Vice President for Development and Chief Operating Officer for several large medical center foundations in Southern California including Saddleback Memorial Medical Center, San Antonio Hospital Foundation and St. Francis Medical Center in Los Angeles.
A native of Jasper, Alabama, Gary grew up in Orange County, California. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications with emphasis in Public Relations from Cal State Fullerton, he began his career serving as the Director of Public Relations for the American Cancer Society in Orange County, California.
Gary is married to wife Ann and have four adult children. His hobbies and interests include boating on Lake Burton in the North Georgia Mountains and playing acoustic guitar. Gary and his wife live in Marietta, Georgia and worship at Journey Christian Church in Woodstock, Georgia.
