SEAN MITCHELL

Director of Advancement & Donor Relations

Sean joined the Advancement Team with more than eleven years of faith-based work in stewardship development. This prior work involved pastoral coaching and church consulting; and for six of these years he worked as the Director of Stewardship Development for Myers Park Presbyterian Church, one of the largest Presbyterian Churches in North America. He has also authored articles and columns for various publications including Duke Divinity’s Faith and Leadership, and is currently co-authoring a book on ways church leaders can equip members of congregations to practice faithful stewardship.

A graduate of North Carolina Wesleyan College (Bachelor of Arts, Religious Studies) and Regent University (Master of Arts in Practical Theology), Sean believes Haggai International’s mission to equip and inspire Christian Leaders is a necessary response to Christ’s Great Commission. In addition, he is convinced that faithful stewardship and generosity are as important as any other spiritual discipline. He is an avid reader, and regularly pursues the study of leadership, cultural transformation, the Psalms, church history, and the stories of Haggai leaders.

Sean lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with his wife Shannon, and their three children Silas, Ezra, and Clara. He and Shannon Co-lead a Discipleship Community within Carmel Baptist Church where they faithfully serve and worship the risen Lord.
